This drummer-turned-bassist got his first bass rig (Yamaha RBX-250/Crate BX-100) in 1995 and has been an integral part of the rhythm section in various bands throughout the New England and Tampa Bay areas including There, Ground Zero, Bits Of Spot and Red Forest.
He is currently studying bass theory and technique with Cliff Engel at the International Institute of Bassists in Hays, Kansas and has previously studied with Rod Swanigan at the Bringe School of Music in St. Petersburg, Florida. His no-frills, in-the-pocket fingerstyle has been compared to Adam Clayton (U2) and Tim Commerford (Audioslave/Rage Against The Machine).
He has shared the stage with Milford Graves and Stomp among other innovative performers and has extensive studio and live recording/mixing/mastering experience. In 1993 he performed with his college choir in front of nearly 1,000 congregants at the National Cathedral in Washington, DC and in 2010, he opened for Rusted Root to a crowd of 2,000 people at Jannus Live in St. Petersburg, Florida.
His influences include everything from the classic rock of Rush, Led Zeppelin and Yes to the 80s pop of U2, Journey and The Police to the 90s alternative of Gin Blossoms, Goo Goo Dolls and The Cure.
His gear includes a Steinberger bass, Hartke stack, Nady wireless system, Korg tuner, D'Addario strings and Horizon/Live Wire/Samson cables.
